Philip Poole
Director of Coaching - Challenge Boys and Girls and Goalkeeping
Philip is fully qualified through the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) holding his Premier Diploma and his U.S.S.F National A license along with the UEFA C (English FA I & II). Philip also holds the NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma. In 2006, Philip became an assistant coach with the Charlotte Eagles men and women of USL II and the W-League. Poole is the goalkeeper coach for UNC Charlotte 49er’s working under Coach Jeremy Gunn for the DI program. In addition to his work with the club, UNCC and the Eagles, Philip is the North Carolina Olympic Development Goalkeeper coordinator working with every level of Goalkeeper in North Carolina.
Philip spent a season as an assistant coach at Wingate University after a successful playing career with the Bulldogs. While at Wingate, Philip was fortunate enough to start all 4 years, captaining two, and picking up many accolades along the way.
While in his native England, Philip played as a youth player for Newcastle United before spending three seasons with Hull City AFC.
Prior to joining SCSA, Philip spent a season as Technical Coaching Director with Matthews Soccer Club.
